USE IT or LOSE IT!
This has been one of the most RECURRING Themes in The Circuit from the beginning.
There has been many Sponsoring Clubs over the ‘lifetime’ of The Circuit that just have NOT been as Fully accepted by the players, as was originally anticipated. People Didn’t come to play. They Didn’t USE IT and We LOST it. And these were clubs that players suggested. Tis a Shame.
Then, there have been Clubs where The Circuit was doing great and The Club went out of Business! Others ‘the management’ felt The Circuit wasn’t meeting their expectations and dropped the program.
There’s like been over 70 clubs that have sponsored the Circuit during these 21 years. Now, we HAVE SEVEN Nights available to US. Yet at this time, Three (3) of these nights are NOT BEING USED by the players.
Our Newest club in McKinney, ‘Smithart’s Craft Food and Cheers’ is having a difficult time attracting enough players from the North Side of the DFW Area. Amazing, as so many players from UP there still come down to the main Dart Neighborhood in North Dallas and the fact that there hasn’t been ANY tournaments UP THERE since Rags was running his tourneys. I know the club’s drink & food prices seem expensive – BUT, GOOD NEWS. Sundays there are NOW ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR. Drink Prices are LOWER. Try coming tonight.
The other club is ‘OURGLASS’ in Irving. There hasn’t been enough players to HOLD a Tourney for the last FIVE (5) weeks. This club has been a Circuit Sponsor for almost 4 years. What GIVES???? WE have to USE IT or we will LOSE IT!
ALSO, ——– The Circuit NEEDS some of its regular players to STEP UP and HELP DIRECT the Nightly tournaments. Our two Wonderful Directors, Jessi Reyna & Jennifer Harris, are moving on. They gave their time. Jessi’s business and family have become priorities in her life (YEAH) and she can only handle 1 night of the week, if that. Jennifer’s Mom is opening a new store and Jenn will begin helping her at the end of January. Leaving the whole thing back in Sara and My hands (with help from Tammy on Saturdays).
Folks, both of us are getting OLD and although our Hearts and Minds are still willing, however, our bodies aren’t. My Day business if working my arse off, yet it’s banking and at this time of my life, that is really important. I’m physically not able to do BOTH. So………….
IF the Circuit is going to continue, YOU, the players have to HELP. A commitment of ONE NIGHT a WEEK for 6 months (with some time off) from a few different players would take a huge burden off us and KEEP The Circuit going for everyone to ENJOY. Each evening pays the Director $40 to $50. Otherwise, I will have to be ‘the Jerk’ who closed the Circuit down. Not a threat, just the facts. Who will STEP UP? Give the Circuit a 6 month commitment, please.
One more thing – IF the Circuit is going to continue for a 32nd season, some changes will have to be made besides NEW Directors. Not a lot, just a few tweaks. You will be informed AT The Dartistry what the changes will entail.
YEPPERS, The $5,000+ 31st DFW Dartistry Championships is almost here. The weekend of January 10th &11th is our now Annual Season-end Event. Check here to see if you’re Eligible or Qualified to play. There are ONLY 30 more tourneys which you can USE to become Eligible/Qualified.
